If you have red, blue or purple spider veins visible beneath your skin, spider vein removal in Tucson at Foothills Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery can help you enjoy a blemish-free appearance. Spider vein removal can be completed in less than an hour’s time with an IPL (intense pulsed light) treatment or the use of sclerotherapy.
If you are considering sclerotherapy or laser vein removal in Tucson, we are available to answer all of your questions. Call (520) 731-1110 or request a consultation using our online form.
Our providers offer both the Syneron IPL technique and sclerotherapy for women and men who want to reduce visible veins. IPL spider vein treatment involves the use of laser-like energy to target visible spider veins, creating clearer-looking skin. During treatment, the IPL wand is applied over the skin to send energy pulses that cause the spider vein to shrink and eventually fade significantly or even disappear. Alternatively, the sclerotherapy technique diminishes the appearance of veins through an injection of a solution that causes the vein to collapse on itself. Blood flow is naturally re-routed to healthy veins.
Spider vein treatment may be performed as an individual procedure or in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures and treatments, including injectable fillers, an IPL Photofacial, skin rejuvenation, or laser hair removal in Tucson.

Spider vein treatment is usually pain free and does not require anesthesia. The injection used in sclerotherapy may feel like a light pinch at the injection point.
While these treatments effectively diminish or even eliminate visible veins, they do not address the underlying cause of visible vein formation. As a result, new veins may develop over time that would require treatment.
Normal activities can be resumed almost immediately. You may experience some bruising that will subside within a week. You may be advised to wear a compression stocking following treatment for a short period of time to help reduce the appearance of the treated veins.
